Very strong undertow, with waves breaking into each other from several directions. In fact, a few days later we heard than a swimmer died in the surf later that same day (and a local who saw us with our grandkids came over and warned us about the wind/waves/surf). My son-in-law & I did venture into the surf for a few minutes, but did not try to ride any waves for fear of injury. Plus, the wind started to really whip about 10 minutes after we got there. This October 2021 Saturday we had our 4 grandsons (4-11) with us, and it was truly a dangerous place to be - waves were 6-10ft, breaking hard on a sloped beach - dangerous for anyone, and simply out of the question for kids.
